Non Technical Summary
PhotoResearch will evaluate if an investor could make an investment in a new product or process and make a profit over the lifetime of the project. This information can be used by researchers in modifying their research and in technology transfer to aid investors in determining if the new product or process could be a good investment.

Objectives Summary
Provide evaluation of the economic viability of new technologies for converting wood and fiber into new or improved paper and wood products.

Approach Summary
Obtain engineering process models of new or modified processes to establish the flows of input materials and output products. Obtain estimates of capital costs, material costs and output prices. Conduct discounted cash flow analysis to estimate measures such as return on investment and present net value of investment.
