USFS Termiticide Report for 2014

Completed efficacy trial plots on the Chipola Experimental Forest. USDA Forest Service
Completed efficacy trial plots on the Chipola Experimental Forest. USDA Forest Service
Snapshot: The most recent efficacy data for termiticides currently on the market were reported as part of the USDA Forest Service Termiticide Testing Program. This report allows consumers and applicators nationwide to examine the relative performance of these products in small-scale field tests. The information helps the applicators determine which products to offer, and the consumers determine which products they would like to have protecting their homes.
Summary:

Federal registration of termiticides requires efficacy data to support each registration. These efficacy field tests are performed by the Forest Service Termite Team located in Starkville, Miss. The team is part of the Durability and Wood Protection unit of the Forest Products Laboratory located in Madison, Wisc. This paper provides current data from these efficacy tests for products currently on the market. The information gives consumers and applicators nationwide information on the performance of these products in small-scale field tests in four states. As a result, the consumers (usually homeowners) are more informed regarding the products used around and beneath their homes, and applicators have more information to decide which products to offer as part of their businesses. This is an annual report provided by the Forest Service as part of the Termiticide Testing Program.
