Scheduled for June 3-5 in vibrant Rochester, Minn., leading experts will focus on superstorm wood recovery, wood pellets, emerald ash borers, and much more under the overarching theme of “Forest Utilization and Management: From Working Woodlands to City Streets.”

The Forest Products Laboratory (FPL) is providing partial funding for SmallWood 2014. Rusty Dramm, program manager for the Forest Products Marketing Unit at FPL, is quoted in Digital Journal saying the conference will continue to “spur peer-to-peer communication and innovation.”

Session topics include forest watershed protection, natural disaster response, wood to energy, emerging markets, urban forestry, green building, invasive insects, landscape stewardship, international forest products marketing, tribal enterprises, and infrastructure protection and forest restoration.

And don’t forget your smartphone! Craig Rawlings, President & CEO of Forest Business Network, will be introducing a complimentary mobile app for SmallWood participants. The app “will help ensure attendees receive a greater ROI from the conference and grow their network easier and faster right from their mobile devices.” Forest Business Network is hosting the event.

Early-bird registration is open until April 25.
