The Forest Products Laboratory (FPL) is honored to host the Forest Products Society’s second North American Wood Window & Door Symposium, September 23-25, 2015, at the FPL in Madison, Wisconsin.
This conference will help ensure that wood remains a viable option for windows and doors and educate attendees of the benefits of wooden fenestration. Manufacturers, architects, contractors, designers, researchers, students, policy makers, and others interested in the application of wooden doors and windows in residential and commercial construction are welcome to attend.
The symposium’s program will be divided into four main topical areas:
- Processes – focusing on new and innovative processes for construction and manufacturing of wood and wood-based materials used for windows and doors.
- Building Science – focusing on best management practices for installation and maintenance of wood windows and doors.
- Testing – focusing on field and laboratory testing of wood windows and doors and all the components to ensure that service life predictions are accurate.
- Marketing – focusing on the current status of the wood and wood-based window and door market in North America.
In this new era of green technology, consumers are looking for door and window products with outstanding performance and minimal impact to the environment. Wood is perfectly suited to fill such a need. It is renewable, environmentally-friendly, and, with proper maintenance, can outlast comparable materials.
Early registration is currently open until July 15, 2015. Save by registering early! For more information on pricing, registration, or to see a full program of events, visit the Forest Product Society’s website.
